Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, with someone dying every 36 seconds because of cardiovascular disease.

The good news is that by eating a healthy diet, being physically active, not smoking, and managing risk factors for heart disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity, you can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.

helps you build heart-healthy habits by delivering customized tips, reminders, and motivation to your mobile phone by text.

TIPS

Practical tips on diet, exercise, and living a heart healthy lifestyle will be delivered to you by text 3-5 times a week. The tips will focus on small, doable changes that can add up to BIG improvements in your overall health. They will be customized based on your personal risk factors for heart disease.

REMINDERS

With busy lives, it is easy to get sidetracked and forget to take medicine or monitor your health. heartBEAT gives you the ability to schedule customized text message reminders to take medication, exercise, check blood sugars, or monitor blood pressure.

MOTIVATION

If you could use a little extra encouragement, heartBEAT will send you general motivational messages or a personal motivational message you design yourself. To make getting healthy more fun, there will be monthly heartBEAT contests that can qualify you to win prizes.
