Website Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 6/18/19

This privacy policy applies to the website www.beatT2diabetes.com (the “Site”), which is owned and operated by BEATDiabetes (“BEATDiabetes”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).  BEATDiabetes has developed this Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) for you, the visitor/user, to demonstrate our commitment to privacy on the Internet.  This Policy describes the information that we collect when you use and access the Site, how we (or our trusted third party service providers) use it and how and under what circumstances we share that information.  This Policy does not apply to information collected in any other way, such as offline communications.

When you submit information to or through the Site, you consent to the collection and processing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.  By accessing the Site, you are agreeing to the collection and use of your Personal Information as described below.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY PART OF THIS POLICY, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SITE.

  1. Information We Collect

BEATDiabetes collects personally identifiable information about you when you voluntarily request information from BEATDiabetes and supply information through the Site that personally identifies you and/or allows us to contact you, including any and all materials submitted by you when you fill out a submission form or submit an inquiry.  “Personally identifiable information” means information associated with or used to identify or contact you.  This includes information such as your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.

You agree that we may use your personal information as follows:

  • to establish and manage business relations with you;

  • to provide services or information to you;

  • to communicate with you via email, text, or phone to provide services or send newsletters and emails;

  • for customer service, security, to detect fraud or illegal activities, or and for archival and backup purposes in connection with the provision of the services;

  • to better understand how users access and use the Site, for the purposes of trying to improve the Site, diagnose problems, administer our Site and respond to user preferences;

  • to enforce our Site Terms of Use or other applicable policies.

We may also collect certain information about you that does not personally identify you (“Other Information”). Other Information includes age, gender, medications or similar information submitted when you complete an online form, survey or questionnaire.  Other Information also includes information automatically collected when you use the Site, such as the internet protocol address of your computer (automatically assigned by your Internet Service Provider whenever you log onto the Internet), the date and time you access to the Website, what pages of the Website you visit and when, and the type of browser you use.  This data is not personally identifiable.

If we link, or combine, in any way your Other Information with your personally identifiable information, we will treat the combined information as personally identifiable information under our Privacy Policy.  If we separate your Other Information from your personal identifiable information in such a way that a third party reviewing the Other Information would be unable to link the responses to you, the responses will be treated as Other Information.

You agree that we may use Other Information for statistical analysis and internal research purposes to help us understand our Services and become better equipped to serve your needs.  We also use the Other Information to operate, improve and personalize the Site, to provide customer service, and to detect, prevent and mitigate fraudulent or illegal activities.

We also may use session cookies, which are small text files placed on your browser that maintain information from page to page as you navigate the Website.  Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser.  If you do not want session cookies stored on your computer you might be able to adjust your browser settings to refuse all cookies, including sessions cookies, although this may prevent you from using certain features of the Website and the Services.

BEATDiabetes may also collect information that qualifies as Protected Health Information (“PHI”) when you voluntarily submit such information through the Site. Any information that qualifies as PHI will be handled according to our HIPAA Privacy Policy as outlined in the Notice of Privacy Practices

  2. Disclosing Your Personally Identifiable Information to Third Parties

Any information we gather, whether voluntarily provided by you or automatically collected, may be used for our internal business and marketing purposes but will not be sold or otherwise disclosed to third parties for any purposes, except as stated below.

We treat the information you submit through our Site as confidential. We may share personally identifiable information about you with other trusted companies or people to perform functions for which we engage them when (1) you have consented to our sharing of the information, or (2) we need to share the information in order to provide a service requested by you. These companies or individuals may use your personally identifiable information only to the extent necessary to assist us and are required to protect the information.

Notwithstanding any other statements or representations in this Policy or elsewhere on our Site, we reserve the right to disclose any information in our possession if we are required to do so by law; buy, sell or reorganize some part or all of our business; or we believe, in good faith, that such a disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, defend our rights or property, for safety, or to respond to an emergency situation.

PHI will only be disclosed to third parties in accordance with our HIPAA Privacy Policy as outlined in the Notice of Privacy Practices

  3. Security

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information that you submit.  However, the security of information transmitted through the internet can never be guaranteed.  We (like all websites) cannot warrant or guarantee 100% security of any information you transmit to us at our websites.

  4. Third Party Links

The Site may contain links to websites maintained by third parties with which we have no affiliation.  This Policy does not reflect the privacy practices of those sites, and you should consult the privacy policies of those sites to learn about their practices.  A link to any third party site does not mean that we endorse it or the quality or accuracy of information presented on it.

  5. Additional Protections for Children

The Site is not designed for or targeted to children under the age of 18. We will never knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 18 through the Site.  If we discover that a child under the age of 18 has submitted personally identifiable information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information.

  6. Access to and Changing Personally Identifiable Information

You have the right to contact us at any time to: (a) request the removal of any personally identifiable information that you provided to us from our servers and computer networks; and (b) update your personally identifiable information.  Please use the Company contact information provided below or the “Contact Us” link on the Site. Removal, or refusal to allow further collection or use of personally identifiable information may substantially reduce the effectiveness and usability of the Website.

  7. Contacting Us

For this reason, you should regularly review this Policy and note the effective date.  If we make a material change to this Policy and you have provided your email address, we may notify you of any changes to our Policy via email.  Your continued use of the Site after the Effective Date constitutes your acceptance of the amended Privacy Policy.
